All I have to share is that our guest speaker at Chapel yesterday used the phrase, "Holy Jungle Fever Batman" in reference to one of his ancestors marrying a pureblood irish man. It was hilarious.

Music:Hello by Lionel Richie

So, despite the challenges of having 6 classes, life is going well. I had tons of fun over the weekend watching movies, playing cards, drinking coffee, and playing MK and MT (for those who are video game illiterate, that is Mario Kart and Tennis). I applied for a job at the Davis theater in Lincoln square and despite my time constraints, I could really use that source of income. Plus, I sadly miss the concession stand. How lame am I? I'm so glad to have Annie and Molly back but I really miss everyone who is abroad or will be soon. I got to see Trina, so that helped. I want my future roommate! It would really help my diet. I'm eating like crap without someone to eat dinner with. Also, i just miss her. I did make spanish rice on Saturday. It was pretty tasty despite the abundance of chili powder. For my first homecooked meal, I would say it was pretty good.

I really like my classes. Personality and Intimate Relationships are both wonderful classes. French II is all review, making it quite easy. The rest of the classes are okay. JOE IS GONE!!! It is the saddest thing ever. The conductor was replaced by some annoying clarinet player who holds his baton with his man boobs. That is very distracting, by the way. Anyway, I have some reading to do, but I thought I would update considering it has been a very long time.

Music:Please Don't Tell Her by Jason Mraz

So, I just took my first "real" final and I'm pretty sure I just bombed it. I was completely clueless about at least half of the questions. I recognized the terms, but they were applied in a different way. So, there goes my A in research methods. Let's just hope that I got at least a C on the final. Maybe I'll study better for my next two...

Music:Brandy - Looking Glass

I had a dream last night that I got chased and attacked by lobstrocities: huge half crab/ half lobster monsters that are vicious. Now, what I can't decide is if this was a result of watching Simply Irresistable which has a crab or reading the book Drawing of the Three by Stephen King which contains lobstrocities. Probably both. Whatever, the point is, it was scary. I was trapped on the washer and dryer in my house for a long time hoping this lobstrocity couldn't climb and that someone would come help me....but no one came. Should I be reading into this dream. What would Freud say? Probably that the lobstrocity was one of my parents and I subconciously wanted to have sex with it... but I don't think that is right. Truthfully, I think part of it was feeling attacked emotionally, but that is a story for another day.

Music:Rainy Day by Guster

I've officially become a college student. It is perfectly normal that I am awake at 2 am. Also, I am constantly playing video games instead of doing my work. Damn you Mario Kart!

Also, finals week approaching, I'm becoming a nihilist. This is not good. This is when I should care the most, but I worked so hard that I'm too worn out to care. Hopefully this will go away by tomorrow. Pray for me.

Music:You'll Never Find Another Love by Michael Buble

My friend called me selfish yesterday, and I can't get it out of my head. It was one of those things that got blurted out, might have been a joke, but it felt so real. I know I should just forget about it...but do I really come off as selfish? Am I selfish? I guess that is something I should work on.

2.5 hours left of my 30 hour fast. I'm starving!!

Anyway, I'm doing this for World Vision's 30 Hour Famine. The premise is, you fast for 30 hours so a child in a poverty stricken country can eat. If you would like to support me in this endeavor and donate to the cause, that would be amazing. Even one dollar can feed a child for a day. Thanks for you time.

Music:We Can Work It Out -Beatles

The band concert went well last night. I had the first solo of my life and it didn't turn out so bad. Luckily, it was supposed to be played tentatively so, it was okay that I was a nervous wreck. Also, it was just plain easy and only two measures.

edit: That is not all I did on my friday night. I also attempted to go to Coldstone with Emily and J.C., but our plan was thwarted by managerial changes. There would be pictures if it weren't for my stupid camera battery dying. GRRR... Anyway, we went to Clarks instead and it was good times. Mmm...chocolate chip pancakes. We also watched The Notebook...but I fell asleep during the sex scene. It happens.

So, the most amazing thing happened yesterday. I went to Andy's Fruit Ranch down the street and was pleasantly surprised to find shelves of FAYGO! That's right people. That's the soda that is commonly thought to be only sold in Michigan, specifically the Detroit area where it is produced. The company that has such amazing soda flavors as peach, blue raspberry, and more! So, what is Andy doing with Faygo in his fruit ranch? I don't know and I don't care. I'm just delighted to have Faygo grape available to me all the time. The only sad thing... no Rock & Rye. Don't know what that is? Neither do I, but I know that it tastes amazing.

I've been having a great weekend so far.

Friday Night:
Downtown with Emily: Apple Store (still doesn't have the nano accessories), TGIFridays, and then the movies to see North Country (wonderful, intense movie. I give it two thumbs up.)
Then, back to Anderson to chill, watch Mulan, and then I sat desk with Heidi.
Good times all around and then bed at 4:30.
Saturday: I worked out for the first time in a month. Made banana bread. (If you're nice to me, I'll give you a piece.) Chinese food and starbucks with Jess. Then, we watched Serendipity and Gosford Park.

Music:Mr. Curiosity - Jason Mraz

I can't even explain how exciting my Saturday night was. Jason Mraz concert at the Congress with Marge and Liz. I'm so in love with the Geek in the Pink. He may be skinny at times but he's fat full of rhymes. He put on the best show I've ever seen. He's got so much energy and such a sweet style. Not that he has only one style. He did some hip-hop, pop, opera (yea, you heard what I said)... The opening act was a sweet, blind guy named Raoul who played guitar. Anyway, it was awesome and so is Mr. A-Z, his new cd.

Also, thanks to James (the bestest guy ever), I am now the proud owner of an Ipod nano. It's like having my own life soundtrack and I love it.

I've been super busy lately but I'm perfectly happy.

Can't wait for this weekend when James come down for Homecoming! And I can't wait for the weekend of Oct. 22nd when I go to Ann Arbor to see Reed and come home to see the marching band show at West Bloomfield!

I just got a lecture from my roommate and I am pretty pissed off. Apparently, living in an apartment brings responsibility that she doesn't think I can handle. She spoke to me as if I didn't realize that the apartment was a bit disheveled. And when I told her I had every intention of cleaning it before I went to bed and was about to start, she pretended I hadn't spoken at all. She then continued to speak about splitting duties and dividing food. I could have sworn we had discussed specific foods which would be free reign as long as you replaced it. And I did replace the beef I used... in fact I bought twice as much as I used. So, her brilliant idea is to use some and then split the rest. She put her half in a ziploc bag and the other half with the plastic covering over it. That meat which I paid for, is now spoiled with freezer burn unless I can salvage it. Now, is that responsible? Should this person who sleeps until 1 O'clock be lecturing me about my responsibilities? We're in college. That means that some days, we are so fucking busy, we can't clean every single thing. I had to eat on the run and didn't do my dishes. OMG! The world is going to fucking end! I better pick a specific day and time to vacuum the floor each week with no flexibility. That way, my roommate doesn't feel ashamed when people come over. You know how college kids are constantly criticizing our cleanliness. Basically, I just don't like getting talked down to. Especially concerning issues I thought we had all ready discussed.

I love that my first entry in a long time is me bitching. I just needed to vent before I yelled at her, because she is a wonderful girl. I love my roommate...but I needed to get that out.

P.S. I cleaned the apartment in about ten minutes and it looks beautiful...except for some of her stuff which is out and her little cubby hole... which is a mess... ironic maybe?

Music:the Ballad of John and Yoko

So, I just turned in my Jesus paper. That means I am finished with my first year of college. There's been good times and bad times, but here are some highlights.

-Small group with the best girls on campus
-The fitness expo with free stuff galore
-Pillow talk with Trina
-Our many downtown excursions
-The best waiter to ever work at Clark's and his movie-style run out the door to say Happy Birthday to Ashley, Heidi, and Molly
-Us going back five times when we knew he was working, just to see him.
-Ed Debevic's for Trina's birthday
-Annie kicking the top of the doorframe
-Talking about Jesus with Emily
-My new Alias obsession, finally catching up, and watching a real episode with Emily
-Walks to Jewel for quarts of ice cream and spoons to eat it with while we walk back.
-Movie nights
-Impromptu dance parties
-ARA, the worst food ever
-Painting pottery
-Friedman Place

There are so many more awesome things about the last year. I'm super happy with my college choice and excited to come back next year.

Your Love Style is Agape

You are a caring, kind, and selfless partner.

Unsurprisingly, your love style is the most rare.

You are willing to sacrfice your world for your sweetie.

Except it doesn't really feel like sacrifice to you.

For you, nothing feels better than giving to the one you love.

What's Your Love Style?

I like that college is sometimes like a huge sleepover. Tonight, we walked to Blockbuster and JewelOsco. We came back armed with movies and ice cream. So we finished a carton of the best ice cream ever. Girl Scout cookie ice cream. Samoa! I never knew something so amazing existed. We watched Closer (Amazing, fucked up, but amazing) and a classic, Pretty in Pink. I forgot how wonderful it was. I only cried like 5 times. Anyway, as much as I want to grow up and become an adult, I will always love hanging with my girls.

OOH OOH!! I also bought three movies. They were cheap and buy 2, get 1 free. I got Saved!, Wimbledon, and Troy. I think it was a marvelous purchase. Anywho, I'm off to bed. I'm ready for a great dream about James. Don't worry, nothing gross. ;)

Music:Be Small Enough

Oh, the wisdom of song lyrics! Let's just take some time to appreciate what we can learn from music. Go ahead and guess the artist or song title if you like.

“Remember that the only things we need sometimes are chilly nights and warmer thighs, 'cause there's nothing like being held.”

“Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.”

“Reaching out for something you've got to feel
While clutching to what you had thought was real”

“ People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening”

“Take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.”

“When people lock their doors and hide inside
Rumor has it it's the end of Paradise...
I feel so helpless like a boat against the tide
I wish the summer winds could bring back Paradise”

My anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns hun
